By having spent my childhood growing up in South-Africa in the 1990s, a deep appreciation for nature has been imprinted in me from a very young age. Part of the series ‘Natural Wonders’, this work is my visual representation of the threat that our oceans are facing in terms of mass scale pollution and destruction of ecosystems induced by humans. The lower half of the painting represents the pristine coral reefs, teaming with life. However, the upper part of the painting shows a more barren and desolate scene, with plastic debris dancing with the rhythms of the ocean currents.
